Sarah Pidgeon Shines in Chanel at the Premiere of 'Love Story: JFK Jr. & Carolyn Bessette'
The red carpet was graced by Sarah Pidgeon, who embodied the essence of Chanel at the highly anticipated premiere of FX's 'Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette.' This captivating series, set to debut on February 12 on FX and Hulu, delves into the iconic relationship between JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette in the 1990s.
Styled by the talented Emma Jade Morrison, Pidgeon donned a breathtaking creation from Matthieu Blazy's pre-fall 2026 collection. The dress, a masterpiece in itself, featured a sleeveless design with a daring plunging neckline, paying homage to the Art Deco era. The bodice, adorned with diamond shapes, channeled the glamour of the 1930s, leaving a lasting impression.
But here's where the look took a playful turn: the beaded detailing gracefully flowed into a drop waist, giving way to a whimsical skirt with soft turquoise plumage. A subtle black bow at the neckline added a touch of elegance, while black trousers, hidden from view, completed the ensemble. Her footwear choice? Pointed-toe black pumps, of course.
Pidgeon's hair, styled by David von Cannon, was effortlessly chic with a middle part and natural waves. Makeup artist Shayna Goldberg enhanced her features with a soft and subtle hand.
Matthieu Blazy, the newly appointed artistic director of Chanel since December 2024, showcased his inaugural Métiers d'Art collection in a unique setting—New York City's subway system in December 2025. WWD's Emily Mercer praised the collection, noting its journey through time, from 1920s beehive hairdos to the power suiting of the 1980s, all infused with animal prints inspired by Gabrielle Chanel's iconic wardrobe.
And this is where it gets intriguing: Blazy's collection featured handwoven leopard motifs on tweed jacket and skirt sets, a new technique that paid tribute to Chanel's legacy. The silks were designed to mimic her fondness for Astrakhan fur, and there was even a tweed-inspired recreation of the 1931 film poster for 'Tonight or Never,' for which Chanel designed the costumes.
